#FreetownTheTreetown on the 26th of June, 2026, achieved a major milestone with the completion of Universal Tree Tracking across all catchment areas. This marked the closing of tracking for all RUSLP trees planted during the 2020/2021 phase.

The effort involved navigating challenging terrain, revisiting communities, and verifying each tree’s condition. More than data collection, it underscored the importance of community ownership, consistent monitoring, and ongoing support for tree survival.

This success reflects the dedication of trackers, monitors, CBOs, community leaders, technical teams, and partners. Together, we’ve ensured every tree planted is backed by data and lessons that will guide the next phase of restoration. Looking ahead, these insights will strengthen efforts to build a greener, climate-resilient Freetown and support entry into the carbon market.
